After rolling out a number of major product updates on Piktochart, it is time to go back and make improvements on some of Piktochart’s more common functions.

Update 1: Justify

Firstly, we’re introducing long the awaited text align formatting: Justify. This completes the text align family (Left/Right/Center) and now you have all the basic functions to format text in your infographic.

Update 2: Object Snapping

Another improvement we have made is the object snapping tool. The Piktochart dev team have received feedback regarding it and have worked hard to make it your helpful assistant in aligning objects rather than an annoyance.

The most noticeable improvement is the center line added to the editor; users can now align objects to the center, both horizontally and vertically within a block. No more making wild guesses.

The improved snapping guide also shows which adjacent object(s) the selected target is aligned with. In this picture, you can see the text is align to the bottom of two charts and positioned to the center of the infographic.

Another interesting thing is the snapping tool will not snap to the same object after it is move away from it for three times. This means that if your text is snapped to a chart, when you move it away and realign back to the chart 3 times, it will ignore the chart from the 4th instance onwards and look for other adjacent objects to align with. The logic is if you ignore the alignment after three times, you probably really don’t want to align to that object.

Update 3: Make a Request

You will also notice a small ‘Make a Request’ button located at the top of ‘Graphics’ >> ‘Icons’ section.

If you can’t find an icon you need, please make a request. We want your ideas and let us know if you’re willing to pay for it. Everyone is welcomed to contribute to grow our library of icons and images.

We hope you like the new Product Updates! Let us know how we can further improve the Magic editor by dropping us a line in the comments below.
