Over the past three months, we ran an Instagram contest with a great purpose – to look for photos that tell powerful stories. ‘My Visual Story’ was a great ride. We received hundreds of wonderful and moving photo stories that touched our hearts, inspired us, and what matters most, made us feel more connected to many of you. It’s been so rewarding to take a sneak peek into your lives and get to know you better through moments which are important to you and which you captured beautifully.
Selecting the finalists of the contest was a difficult task. Each and every story carries its own unique message and angle of portraying it. Reaching out from within, we selected 25 finalists. Each one of us here at Piktochart voted for the photo that left the biggest impact on them. Based on the results of our collective vote, we present to you the winners of My Visual Story competition.
The winner of an iPad Air and 1-year free Pro subscription to Piktochart
Sonia Malmquist – @soniabegonias
This image leaves a long-lasting impact on the viewer. It captures a beautiful act of loving care, kindness and respect for the the older and wiser generation. It moved our hearts and we’re happy that its message will reach out to more people via our blog. Congratulations, Sonia! 🙂
Next, we present to you the 5 runner-ups who will receive the prize of a 6-month free Pro for Piktochart.
1. Ace Spencer – @acespencer
Ace submitted several really insightful entries to the competition and one of them won him the prize of a 6-month free Pro plan. The reason this photo was selected was not because it is professional. Any camera would have been as good at taking it. The words he added to the image nicely contribute to its meaning – sharing is caring! When we share we gain more than we give.
2. Barry Fraser – @barrypfraser
Barry’s photo stands for the deep connection between souls, not necessarily always human. We love the composition of his photo.
3. Tara Jennifer – @teejstam
Tara’s stunning sunset image enchants us on many levels, we almost feel like we’re present in the scene, hearing the spanish guitar with our own ears.
4. Vladd_yea – @vladd_yea
This image is a great metaphor for the empowerment we receive from bonding with mother nature.
5. Tracy Brisson – @tracybrisson
We find Tracy’s photo refreshing and truly inspiring. The positive energy that flows from the image feels almost tangible.
Congratulations go to all winners of the contest! We will contact everyone shortly about their prize. Each and every story has been a precious gift to us and we thank you all for contributing and participating!
